Sick on Vacation!
3. July 2022Off to our new home!

Are you moving? Then your household goods and insurance will move with you. Moving can often be very stressful—packing boxes, transporting them, unpacking, and setting up your new home. Many people prefer to move their belongings into the new home in stages. But are my couch, my bed, and my vase even insured in the new home?!
There’s a clear and straightforward answer here: Yes, starting from the date of the move, both apartments—and thus the household contents—are temporarily covered for up to 2 months. Once this period has expired, coverage applies only to the new apartment. It’s important to notify your insurance company of the move early enough. The insured amount is generally calculated based on the square meterage of the apartment.
If you move into a larger apartment, your premium must be adjusted accordingly to prevent underinsurance. If you fail to report this, underinsurance could result in you receiving only a portion of the benefits in the event of a claim.
If there is a price increase for the same services and at the same premium rate, you have a special right to cancel.
