– why protection is especially important right nowFall is just around the corner—the leaves are turning golden, temperatures are dropping, and the days are getting shorter. But the change of seasons also brings with it a number of challenges. The risk of accidents increases, especially during this time of year risk of accidents, whether due to wet and slippery paths, darkness setting in early, or storms that blow branches and leaves onto the streets.
Accidents happen quickly and unexpectedly. However, statutory accident insurance often covers only the commute to work or the workplace itself. Recreational accidents, which account for about 70% of all accidents are not covered by insurance. This makes it all the more important to have comprehensive insurance coverage now that fall is here.

What does private accident insurance cover?
- Disability Benefits: In the worst-case scenario, an accident can result in permanent disability. Accident insurance pays a lump-sum benefit, the amount of which is based on the degree of disability. This payment can be up to five times the insured amount if a high progression rate has been agreed upon.
- Lifetime Accident Pension: If, following an accident, you are no longer able to perform your job, accident insurance provides a monthly pension. This pension is paid starting at a disability rating of 50% and can even be doubled under the Premium Coverage plan if the disability rating reaches 90%.
- Death Benefit: In the worst-case scenario, an accident can be fatal. In this tragic situation, it is especially important that your loved ones are financially protected. Accident insurance pays out an agreed-upon death benefit if you die as a result of an accident within one year.
- Daily Accident Hospitalization Benefit: An accident can result in injuries that require a prolonged hospital stay. In such cases, the insurance policy’s daily accident hospitalization benefit applies, and it is paid for each day spent in the hospital—for up to four years.
- Recovery Benefits: After you are discharged from the hospital, recovery benefits will continue to be paid for up to two years to provide financial support during your recovery.
- Rehabilitation Services: Rehabilitation services include, for example, initial consultations and counseling on rehabilitation, as well as referrals to contacts for vocational or medical rehabilitation measures.
- Assistance Services: Assistance services provide practical help with everyday tasks, such as transportation to doctor’s appointments, housekeeping, and even childcare. These services not only ease the burden on the person affected but also on their family, ensuring a smoother transition back to everyday life.
Take advantage of the fall to protect yourself and your loved ones as best as possible—because it’s especially important to be prepared for any eventuality during this time of year. This way, you can enjoy the best of fall without a care in the world, while accident insurance works behind the scenes to keep you safe.
